What is a Server?
A server, also known as a host, is a computer located in Singapore or another country that is connected to the internet 24/7 and contains the website files to serve them to anyone who visits the website link. A single server may host 10 or even 50 websites at the same time, depending on the server's memory size and capacity. The server is linked to different domain names associated with the website files on the server. Each server has a fixed IP address, such as 55.321.32.11, which is used in the domain name settings to link them with the server.
What are the available memory sizes for servers?
Most servers come in three memory sizes (2GB, 4GB, 8GB). If the client desires larger sizes, we can provide that for an additional monthly fee based on the desired size.
What are the options for server locations?
The computers used as rental servers are located in several countries such as Singapore, the USA, Japan, and Bahrain. However, at Sikka, all our servers are located in Singapore.
What is the cost of a server?
The rental fees for a server are paid monthly or annually and range from 20 SAR per month to 200 SAR per month per server.
What happens if the server fees are not paid?
If the monthly or annual fees (as agreed) are not paid, we give the client a 30-day grace period to make the payment. If the payment is not made after the grace period, the website or online store will be deleted from the server.
What if the client has their own server?
If the client wants us to host their website on their own server, we will need access credentials to their server control panel, called cPanel. We will then upload the website/online store files to the client's server and link it to the domain name if it is not already linked to any domain.
